Editorial Policy

This page explains how articles on Revolution Report are researched, written, checked and corrected, and how we earn money. It applies to every article.

What we cover

We write plain-English guides on student loans, banking and neobanks, and the technology changing money. We also publish buying guides for products. We do not cover topics where we cannot find reliable sources.

How we research

  • For rules, taxes and regulations we rely first on primary sources: government and regulator websites, official program pages and company filings.
  • Important claims are linked to their source in the article, and each article ends with a list of sources.
  • We prefer recent sources and note the date of the information we use.

How articles are written and checked

  • Articles are written and edited by the site’s author. We may use AI tools to help with research or drafting. A person checks every fact against its source and is responsible for what is published.
  • We do not publish articles that only restate other pages. Each article should add something useful: a worked example, a comparison table, a checklist or a clear decision guide.

Updates and review dates

Articles where rules change show a “Last reviewed” date. We review student loan and tax articles at least once every three months and whenever a rule changes. Neobank lists and product roundups are reviewed about every six months. We change the date only when we have actually checked or changed the content.

Product guides

  • Each guide states how products were chosen, including the criteria and what we compared.
  • We say “tested” or “I used” only where that is true. Where we have not handled the products, we label the guide as research-based and name what it draws on, such as specifications, manufacturer information and owner reviews.
  • We list drawbacks as well as benefits, and explain why a product is “best” for a given use.
  • For health-related products we cite manufacturer or medical sources and do not claim a product treats a condition.

How we make money

The site earns money from display advertising and from affiliate commissions, including through the Amazon Associates program. Commissions and advertisers do not decide what we write or how we rank products. See the Affiliate Disclosure. Sponsored content, if we ever publish any, will be labelled at the top of the page.

Corrections

If you find an error, email bdrakibsbl@gmail.com with the page address and what is wrong. We review corrections promptly. When we fix a significant error we correct the article and add a short dated note saying what changed.

Independence

We do not accept payment to change a review, remove criticism or rank a product higher. If we have a financial relationship with a company we write about, we say so in the article.
